About
Wonderlust

This collaborative work emerged from the challenge of creating a movement-based piece inspired by the movie TETRO by Francis Ford Coppola, specially commissioned for the premiere of the film at Cineclube da Maia. The performance was conceived both as a stage and a site-specific exploration of the Cineclub’s spaces—from the atrium to the theater stage— framed by the presence of projection screens placed in a visual dialogue between dancers, light and space.

The choreography and dramaturgy were conceived in collaboration with Rita Pinheiro and Ricardo Reis, alongside the Cineclub team regarding all site-specific arrangements and exploration. Complementing the group, musical artist André Pinheiro (a.k.a. Apache) managed the sound design, integrating snippets of dialogues and monologues from the movie into carefully curated soundtracks. Offering a glimpse of the ambiance, the following track intertwines a monologue from TETRO with Brazilian Sun by CocoRosie, fusing cinematic language and music into the body of the performance.
