Mini Bio

Maria is a dance artist, creator, and teacher. A graduate of the Academia de Dança Contemporânea de Setúbal and Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Law), she has danced with companies such as CeDeCe, Vortice Dance Company, and North Dance Company, performing internationally across Europe and the U.S. Her artistic practice is rooted in ongoing movement research, investigating the body as a space for revelation. Through processes of sensitive listening, her work engages movement and gesture as a ritual of attention, inviting imagination, intimacy, and transformation. Maria has created and co-created several works, including the solo LIBERTAÇÃO–LIBERATION (2025).
